This project took shape in June 1999. After a few meetings of our newly formed group, we decided that a collaborative journal would be an interesting way to fulfil our desires to work together while living physically far apart. It started in Vancouver B.C and it's been to Europe, New York City, Chicago, Victoria B.C. and a fire tower in Alberta Canada. Some of the entries are all text, some are all image...and some have been manipulated by more than one of us as it's been sent around. The result is interesting to see. The voices diverge and converge, sometimes solo and sometimes a chorus. Then we decided to create a web site for the journal as another aspect to the project, a hybrid sibling. In this incarnation we will be manipulating the online images even further. It is interesting to see how this medium shapes the content, as well as the context, of the journal. |
